Contrary
to popular belief Devin Gallagher is not Chinese
he
is Irish. Devin is a senior at SRU and is a communication
major. He also works as a lifeguard at the local Rec. center.
Gallagher
grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. You will know where
he lives if you're traveling and see a bunch of white kids
driving cavaliers with oversized spoilers. He attended OLSH
high school where he excelled at something, maybe. He played
soccer, volleyball and was involved in the school musical
where he got challenging roles like "Boy Number 3."
Devin
has worked for the show since the third season, though he
was out of commission for a brief time because of some problems
with a "simple" hernia operation. The head surgeon
at the hospital gave him the gas and was preparing to cut
him open when Devin blurted out. "No
I want Dr.
Phil!" Surprisingly, the surgeon complied with his
request. Devin later learned that Dr. Phil was not a medical
doctor, and even if he does provide decent programming it
doesn't mean he knows how to performed surgical procedures.
Through all the tears, Devin is able to make light of the
situation.
"See,"
Gallagher said. "That's what drugs do. They makes a
simple hernia operation turn out to be really funny."
He takes
all of this in stride. He is down but not out.
The
shows "The Golden Girls" and "Three's Company"
are his inspiration, his backbone, his heart and soul. Without
them he would probably go to bed and have a good night's
sleep. He has a dream to be a film director someday. However,
for right now he is just going to do what comes natural
which means nothing at this point
