The Ryan P. Muldowney legacy began at Magee Women’s hospital in August of ’83, though some may argue that it really began approximately nine months prior to that. Ryan is a 2001 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. He decided to attend Slippery Rock University in Fall 2001 because of the great computer science department, but what really convinced him were the luxurious conditions of the sixth floor of Dodds Hall, where he spent his first two years of college life. He eventually switched majors to journalism when he realized he had a passion for writing and entertaining the masses..
Ryan was a multi-sport athlete for several years, winning many awards in Basketball, Baseball, and later on in his career, tennis. He peeked athletically when he won the MVP as pitcher in an All-Star game at age 12. It was all down hill from there. As he entered his teen years, Muldowney went into a downward spiral fueled by drugs, alcohol, and prostitution that cost him his big league career. OK, not really. Though not very good at them, Ryan continues to enjoy sports frequently to this day.

Ryan signed on as sidekick of "Gettin’ Later" in 2002 after a nationwide contest was held. Having to beat out top-notch celebrity competition, such as Bruce Vilanch, Robert Carradine, the late great Bob Saget, and Juanita Presley, the production accountant of the hit made-for-tv movie "Problem Child 3: Junior in Love," Ryan impressed everyone with his sexiness and zesty comedic genius. After several grueling auditions, Ryan earned the job.

After three-and-a-half seasons wooing audiences and critics as sidekick, Ryan was promoted to host of “Gettin’ Later” in 2004 after Ben Mitchell parted ways with the show. He now upholds the rich tradition that the show is famous for.

In his spare time, Ryan enjoys sports, running, writing, long walks on the beach, sleeping, and catering to the large women audience of the show. But hey, skinny girls like him too.
